२५५४ औं बुद्ध जयन्तीका दिन फ्रान्सको राजधानी पेरिसमा रहेको आइफल टावर अगाडिबाट नेपालीहरुले शान्ति र्याली गरे। हात हातमा बुद्धका वाणी र सन्देश अंकित प्लेकार्ड र बुद्धका फोटाहरु लिएर र्याली गरियो । नेपाली दुतावास पेरिसको सहयोग र समर्थनमा नेपाली एकता समाज, फ्रान्सले यो र्याली आयोजना गरेको हो । विश्वभरिका पर्यटकहरुको आइफल टावर हेर्न भिड लाग्ने हुनाले यहाँबाट बुद्धका अहिंसाका सन्देशहरु एकै पटक विश्वभरि फैलाउनका लागि यो ठाउँ रोजिएको आयोजकहरुको भनाई थियो ।
फ्रान्सेली पत्रकार पियरले कर्यक्रमबारे चासो राखेपछि आयोजकका सहभागीहरुले नेपाल र फ्रान्सको सद्भावकालागि नेपालीले फ्रान्सेली झण्डा बोक्छन्, तिमीले पनि बोक नेपाली झण्डा भन्नासाथ नेपाली झण्डा बोक्न कस्सिए । बिदेशमा नेपाली झण्डाको झन मान र शान अनि पहिचान बिछट्टै हुने गर्छ ।
बुद्धका अहिंसाका सन्देश र वाणीहरु आकर्षक तरिकाले तयार पारेका थिए कार्यवाहक राजदूत जिवनप्रकाश श्रेष्ठले । कार्यक्रममा दूतावासका सबै कर्मचारी खटिएका थिए ।
पेरिसको भूमिगत रेलवे सेवाका ढोकामा बसेर एकता समाजले बुद्ध जयन्तीबारे जानकारी भएका पम्प्लेटहरु बाँडेको थियो ।
वेलायत । बिसिसी युकेको संयोजकत्वमा मे २७ तारिखका दिन २५५४ औं वुद्ध जयन्ती मिचेट क्याम्बर्लीमा धुमधामका साथ मनाइयो । कार्यक्रममा थाइलैण्ड, जापान, श्रीलंकाका भिक्षुहरु समेत आउनु भएका थिए । कार्यक्रमको शुरुवात लामा गुरुहरुद्धारा पूजा पाठबाट शुरु गरिएको थियो र आयोजित सो कार्यक्रममा उपस्थित भक्तजनहरुले फूल प्रसाद अर्पण गरी भगवान वुद्धको पुजा गरेका थिए । कार्यक्रममा अधिकांश बक्ताहरुले आजको अशान्त बिस्व परिबेशमा बुद्धको सन्देश फैलाउन सकिएको खण्डमा यस्ले बिस्व शान्तिमा उल्लेख्य भूमिका निर्बाह गर्न सक्ने, आफैभित्र कसरी आनन्दानुभूति प्राप्त गर्न सकिने, वुद्ध जयन्तीको महत्व प्रकाश पार्ने र शान्तिका प्रतिमूर्ति बुद्धको प्रसिद्धिबाट लालायितद्धारा सत्यका पर्यायबाची बुद्धमाथि झूटको खेती गर्ने जुन काम भएको छ सत्यको रक्षाकै लागि सो भ्रम निस्तेज पारिनु पर्ने कुराहरुमा जोड दिइएको थियो ।

Kathmandu. On the occasion of 2554th Buddha Jayanti, Kapilvastu Day Movement SAARC Coordinator Mr. Raj Shrestha was invited for an interview. He was interviewed by Ms. Sylvia Razopadhyaya of Lahana Program in Nepal Bhasa of Ujyalo 90 Network FM radio. In the interview, Mr. Shrestha explained
1. the purpose of organizing Kapilvastu Day Movement,
2. importance of the day 1st December in the movement,
3. how the movement is being celebrated in different parts of the world,
4. use of internet technology,
5. how many fans the movement got so far and India’s propoganda to create duplicate Kapilvastu,
6. current situation of Kapilvastu in Nepalese territory,
7. negligence of Government and Lumbini development trust towards the development of duplicate Kapilvastu
8. Kapilvastu, about worldwide textbooks that describes the Buddha to be an indian, and
9. what should be done to solve all these problems now by government level and public level.
And the answers to the questions raised by the listeners about Kapilvastu.

तथ्यलाई भारतीय सञ्चार माध्यमहरूले गलत प्रचार गरेको भन्दै महासंघले ज्ञापनपत्रका साथ ‘बुद्ध नेपालमा जन्मिएका थिए’ भन्ने सन्देश अंकित स्टिकरसमेत बुझाएको छ । भ्रम चिर्न देशव्यापी स्टिकर अभियान थालिएको महासंघका अध्यक्ष राजकुमार लेखीले विज्ञप्तिमा जनाएका छन् ।
‘गौतमबुद्ध शान्तिका दूत हुन् भन्ने तथ्य बौद्धिक वर्ग, अनुसन्धाता, मानवशास्त्रीलगायत विश्वका हरेकलाई थाहा छ,’ ज्ञापनपत्रमा भनिएको छ, ‘उनै बुद्ध नेपालका महान् मानव हुन् । उनी रूपन्देही जिल्लाको लुम्बिनीमा जन्मिएको तथ्यप्रति भ्रम सिर्जना गरिनु हुन्न ।’
विज्ञप्तिमा छ, ‘यो पवित्र अवसरमा भगवान् गौतमबुद्ध नेपालमा जन्मिएका हुन् भन्नेबारे भारत सरकारको ध्यानाकर्षा गराउन चाहन्छौं ।’ महासंघले बिहीबार सा“झ नै बुद्धजयन्तीको अवसर पारेर शान्ति, संविधान र अग्रगमनको कामनासहित संविधानसभा भवनअगाडि दीप प्रज्ज्वलन गरेको छ ।
SUBJECT : INIDAN MEDIAS CAMPAIGN TO DISPUTE BUDHHA’S BIRTH PLACE LUMBINI NEPAL.
Your Excellency,
The India medias in recent years are vigorouslyand intentionally campaigning to dispute the Buddha’s original birth place Lumbini, Rupendehi District Nepal and the Nepal Federation of the Indigenous Nationalities, together with 275,00,000 Nepalese living in Nepal and abroad, all peace loving citizen of the world and all the Buddhist followers and scholars strongly condemn such unethical activities of Indian medias.
All the scholars, anthropologists, researches, intellectuals and the International religious institutions of the world including India or to be precise, NO ONE ON THIS EARTH have never disputed the birth place of universal ambassador of the peace, great human and the great, great and great citizen of Nepal BUDHHA, which is in fact we all know is in LUMBINI, REUPENDEHI DISTRICT OF NEPAL. Why are the India medias continuously campaigning to dispute Buddha’s original birth place which is Lumbini, Rupendehi District of Nepal ???????????????????????????
India and Nepal have close and good relationship and friendship since many centuries. Such, unethical and irresponsible activities may cause distrust and instability in the friendship between two great neighbors Nepal and India. Nepal and India should be aware and put all the possible efforts to stop such elements and activities prior to it damaging the historical friendship between Nepal and India.
The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities and the people of Nepal highly appreciate the government of India and people of India for protecting, preserving Buddhist monuments, sites and promote Buddhist religion in India. No activities should be allowed discredit India’ such great credibility.
On the auspicious day of the Buddha Jayanti , we urge and request government of India and the people of India join hands with the Federation of the Indigenous Nationalities, people of Nepal peace loving people o the world to spread out the message that BUDHHA IS BORN IN NEPAL BUT NOT IN INDIA.
Even after entering into the 21st century – and a century of miracles of scientific achievements – still we have a question, “Are human beings happier than before?” Materialism as well as knowledge in the form of science and technology has contributed greatly to human welfare, however; it is considered to be responsible for deterioration in World Peace as well. Every single day our world spends more than $4 billion on war. However everyday, 20,000 children die of hunger, poverty and a lack of treatment and medicines and millions of people are suffering a lack of their basic needs like food, clean water, clothes and shelter. Nuclear power was developed in the name of establishing peace and now this is threatening the whole human race. Current existing amounts of nuclear power are enough to destroy not a single earth but dozens of equivalent earths. To dispose of this nuclear waste billions of dollars are needed that amounts to just 10-15% of the total cost of producing, maintaining and managing the nuclear industry. If only a certain percentage of these funds were used for the benefit of the people worldwide, struggling to have an education, minimum health care, food and housing a lot could be done. What will happen if the nuclear power will get into terrorists’ hand? This is today’s one of the biggest concerns for world leaders. So where are we now? Irrespective of interest everybody has to read, see, watch and listen to unwanted news full of violence, crime, rape, hunger, accident, war, epidemic, disaster etc in everyday life. However, dedicated persons and organizations are still optimistic for a better and peaceful globe.
Then, how can peace be realized in a planet such as ours? Problems do not arise from those who do not know, but from those who know and pretend not to know. Due to this attitude, the world is in crisis. Until we purge ourselves of these problems nothing will happen on the journey to create a wonderful and safe world for future generations. Most people think seriously about their responsibilities and rights but not about their duty to others. So many use their freedom to violate others and deny them of their freedom. हतियारको उन्माद, प्रकृति विनाश एवं त्यसबाट उत्पन्न प्रकोप साथै भौतिक विकासको होडमा संवेदनाशुन्य बन्दै गईरहेको हाम्रो विश्व एवं मुलुक यतिखेर विश्व शान्तिका अग्रदुत भगवान बुद्धको २५५४ औं बुद्धजयन्ती अर्थात बुद्ध पूर्णिमा पुनः मनाउन गईरहेको छ । विगतमा झैं औपचारिक कार्यक्रम गरी बुद्ध र शान्तिका नाममा केही वक्तव्य केही भाषणबाजी र केही सभा समारोहका बीच यो जयन्ती पनि पूरा हुनेछ । मानिस हरदम दुःखबाट मुक्त सुखी जीवन चाहन्छ । तर थुप्रै प्रयासपछि पनि मानिस निराशाहरुबीच नै जीवनलीला समाप्त गर्दछ । त्यसैले वैराग उत्पन्न भएर होला शायद तत्कालिन कपिलवस्तु राज्य हालको कपिलवस्तु जिल्ला का राजकुमार सिद्दार्थले राजकाज छाडी लामो साधना पछि बुद्धत्व प्राप्त गरेका । र सम्पूर्ण मानिसलाई शान्ति र अिहंसाको मार्गमा जान ज्ञान प्रदान गरेको । आज त्यहि महत्वपूर्ण दिनलाई हामीले सम्झिरहेका छौं । शान्ति र अहिंसाको माध्यमबाट नै मानिस सम्यक समाज निर्माण गर्न सक्दछ र मानवीय भावनाबाट प्रेरित भई धेरै दुःखबाट मुक्त हुन सकिन्छ भन्ने सन्देश भगवान बुद्धले दिनुभएको छ । तर त्यसको ठिक विपरित अहिलेको मानव समाज विभिन्न स्वार्थबाट प्रेरित भएर आपुनै अस्तित्व समाप्त गर्न उद्दृत छ । शान्तिको माला जप्दै समाजलाई सदैव हिंसातर्फ प्रेरित गरिरहेको छ । तथापि हिंसा जति नै हावी भएपनि अन्ततः अहिंसा र प्रेम नै मानिसको आवश्यकता र यथार्थता हो । यसबाट नै थुप्रै वैमनस्य अत्याचार क्रमशः समाप्त हुँदैं आपसी मेलमिलाप भाइचारा र सहयोगको भावना विकास भई मानिस समृद्ध समाज मार्फत साझा हित तर्फ प्रेरित हुन्छ । तर केही व्यक्ति वर्ग गुट एवं देशको अहम्का कारण हजारौं पटक क्रान्ति र परिवर्तन गर्दा पनि मानिस अहिले सम्म सुरक्षित हुन सकेको छैन । तसर्थ पनि बुद्धले दिएको सन्देश विश्व मानव जगतका लागि सदैव सार्थक र आउने समयमा झनै महत्वपूर्ण साबित हुँदै जानेछ । Read the rest of this entry »
न्यूयोर्क, मे २१ २०१०, अन्तरराष्ट्रिय भेसक दिवस (बुद्द जयन्ती) मे २१ तरीकका दिन न्यू योर्कको संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघको कार्यालयमा फिलिपिन्सको संयोजक्त्वमा भब्य रुपमा सम्पन्न भएको छ। उक्त कार्यक्रमको सुरुवत बिभिन्न देशका लामा गुरुहरुद्वारा सामुहिक रुप बुद्ध प्रथना र सबै राष्ट्रका राजदुतहरुद्वरा बुद्द भगवानको प्रतिमुर्तिमा केन्डल प्रज्वलन गरी सुरु गरेका थिए । शेर्पा किदुग अमेरिका र नेपालको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दै लामा गुरुद्वय ङवाङ योन्देन शेर्पा र दोर्जी फुर्ब शेर्पाले उक्त सामुहिक प्रथानामा समेल हुनु भएको थियो।
उक्त कार्यक्रममा आयोजक राष्ट्र फिलिपिन्सका राजदुत तथा संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका लागि फिलिपिन्सका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम लिब्रन केबक्तुलनले स्वागत मन्तब्य ब्यक्त गर्नुको साथै फिलिपिन्समा पनि बुद्दधर्मवलम्बी भएको जानकारी गराउनु भएको थियो। बंगलदेशका राजदुत तथा सयुक्त राष्ट्र सँघका लागि बंगलदेशका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम अबुल्खन अब्दुल मोमेनले बुद्धले प्रतिपदन गरेका पञ्चशिलका सिद्धन्ताको बारेमा जानकारी दिनु भएको थियो भने पाकिस्तानका राजदुत तथा स्थायी प्रतिनिधीले भगवान बुद्द र मिलारेपाको बारेमा व्याख्या गर्नु भएको थियो। जापानका लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम शिगकी सुमिले जापानमा बुद्द धर्मको साथै अन्य धर्महरु पनि रहेको र सबै धर्ममा बुद्ध धर्मको प्रभाब रहेको कुरा जानकारी गराउनु भयो। भुटान लागि लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम लाटु वङ्चुकले आफ्नो मन्त्ब्यमा शान्ती र सदभब आजको विश्वा आवश्यकता भएको कुरा उल्लेख गर्नु भएको थियो। कोरिया लागि लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम राजदुत पार्क इन कूकले विश्व जलबायु र बातावरणीय परिवर्तनको समस्य र विश्व शान्तिको लागि बुद्दको सिद्दान्त अपरिहर्य भएको स्पस्ट पर्नु भयो। साथै कम्बोडियका लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम कोसै सि, भारतका लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम राजदुत हारी दिप सिंग पुरी, लावोसका लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम श्रीमती कनिका फोम्माचन, म्यान्मर लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम थान स्वी,थैल्यान्ड लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम नोरोचित सिन्हसेनी, भियतनमा लागि सयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका स्थायी प्रतिनिधी महमहिम राजदुत लि लुङ मिन्ह ले पनि बुद्द र बुद्ध धर्मको बारेमा आ- आफ्नो बिचार राख्नु भएको थियो।

शान्तिका अग्रदुत भगवान गौतम वुद्धको २५५४ औ जन्मजयन्तीको अवसर पारेर कपिलवस्तु दिवस अभियान समिति डेनमार्कले ३० भन्दा
बढी सहभागीको उपस्थितिमा आज डेनमार्कको कोपनहेगनमा भेला सपन्न ग-यो ।
यतिखेर देशभर २५५४ औ बुद्ध जयन्ती मनाउने तयारी भइरहेको छ । यसको मुख्य केन्द्र विन्दु मानिएको लुम्बिनीमा जयन्ती मनाउने भब्य तयारी समेत भईरहेको छ । नजिकिदै गरेको बुद्ध जयन्तीका लागि लुम्बिनीलाई बेहुली झै सिंगारीएको छ । बुद्ध जयन्ती मनाउन जोडतोडले लागेको छ यतिखेर लुम्बिनी बिकाष कोष । यस अवसरमा हुने राष्ट्रपति, मन्त्री तथा देश बिदेशको पाहुनाहरुको आगमनले लुम्बिनीमा झनै रौनकता थपिने पक्का छ । तर तिनै बुद्धले २९ वर्ष विताएको कपिलवस्तु भने उजाड, उराठ र सुनसान छ । बुद्धसंग सम्बन्धित एक सयभन्दा बढी तिर्थस्थल रहेको पुरातात्विक कपिलवस्तुलाई भने यो दिवसले छुन सकेको छैन । सरकारको नजरबाट ओझेल बनेको कपिलवस्तुमा भने लुम्बिनीमा चहलपहल र रमाईलो भईरहदा यतिबेला यहाँ रहेका बुद्धसंग सम्बन्धीत ऐतिहासिक स्थलहरु भने सुनसान र उजाड छन् । यहाँ रहेका धार्मिक स्थलहरु तिलौराकोट, कुदान, गोटीहवा, निगालीकोट, ७७ हजार शाक्य बंशको वद्य स्थल, सगरहवा ताल लगायतका सयभन्दा बढी स्थलहरु ओझेलमा पर्दै गएका छन् । सरकार तथा लुम्बिनी विकास कोषको नजरमा पर्न नसकेको ती स्थलहरु उजाड र उराठलाग्दो त बनेका छन् नै स्थलहरु माथि मानवीय अतिक्रमण बढ्दै जादा तिनीहरुको अस्तित्व समेत खतरामा परेको छ । Read the rest of this entry »
गैरआवसीय संघ एनआरएन मलेसियाले भव्यरूपमा २५५४ औं बुद्ध जयन्ती मनाउने भएको छ । बुधबार आफ्नै कार्यालयामा पत्रकार सम्मेलनको आयोजना गरी यो जानकारी दिइएको हो । यहाँस्थित बुद्धधर्मावलम्वीहरुको संस्थाले आयोजना गरेको विशाल शान्ति र् याली कार्यक्रममा एनआरएन मलेसियाले आफ्नो तर्फबाटसहभागिता जनाउने भएको छ ।
लाखौं रिङगेटको लगानिमा बुद्धको मुर्ती र मलेसियाको विभिन्न ठाउँ तीन दिन र् याली हुने छ । यहाँ WESAK DAY भनेर शान्ति र् यालीमा जिनज्याङ सेन्तुल सेरेण्डा पुचोङ ब्रेकफिल्ड पिजे देशापेतालिङ लगायतमा शान्ति र् याली गर्दै बुद्धधर्मावलम्बीहरुले बार्षि रुपमा भव्यरुपमा मनाउने गरेको छ ।
२८ मे का दिन ब्रेक फिल्डमा एनआरएन र मलेसियामा भएका विभिन्न संघ संस्थाका प्रतिनिधीहरुको सहभागिता हुने कुरासम्मेलनमा संघका अध्यक्ष शंकरबहादुर पौडेलले जानकारी दिनुभयो । सो दिन ब्रेकफिल्डस्थित कार्यक्रमको समुदघाटन गर्न मलेसियाका प्रधानमन्त्री दातो नाजिव तुन राजाक र उनकी श्रीमती आउने कार्यक्रम छ ।
मिचेट । वुद्धिष्ट कम्युनिटी सेन्टर युके (बिसीसी युके) ले आगामी २७ मे मा २५५४ औं वुद्ध जयन्ती भव्यरुपमा मनाउने तयारी गरेको छ । गत २५ अप्रिलमा बसेको १८ औं बिसीसी युके बैठक पनि यसैमा केन्दि्रत थियो । संघका महासचिव पेम्बा लामाले सहभागीको ध्यानआकृष्ट गरेपछि संघका अध्यक्ष रि.ले.काजी शेर्पाको स्वागत मन्तव्य र लामा गुरु तीर्थ घलेको मोन्लम प्रार्थनाबाट बैठक शुभारम्भ भएको थियो ।
प्रथम चरणको बैठकमा संघका पब्लिक रिलेशन तथा बुद्ध जयन्तीका मुख्य प्रबन्धक रि.मे. डमर घलेले छोटो मन्तव्य राख्दै सम्पुर्ण बुद्ध धर्मलाम्वीहरुलाई २७ मे मा हुने वुद्ध जयन्ती पर्वमा उपस्थित हुन सम्पूर्ण संघसंस्था, जातजाति, वर्ग, लिङ्ग, व्यक्तिहरुलाई हार्दिक आग्रह गरे । Read the rest of this entry »

-सन् १९७० मा संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय लुम्बिनी समितिको गठन जसमा १५ बौद्धिष्ट राष्ट्रहरु सदस्य रहेको ।
- विश्व प्रसिद्ध जापानी वास्तुविद् प्रो। केन्जो। टाङ्गे हाल दिवंगत लुम्बिनी गुरुयोजना तयार गर्न नियुक्त ।
- सन् १९७८ मा प्रो। केन्जो। टाङ्गेद्वारा निर्मित गुरुयोजना नेपाल सरकार तथा संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघबाट स्वीकृत ।
- गुरुयोजनाअनुसार १८३ माइल कोरजोन क्षेत्रको जमिन अधिग्रहण गरी लुम्बिनी विकास समितिले काम अगाडि बढाएको ।
- सन् १९८५ मा लुम्बिनी विकास कोष ऐन संसद्बाट पारित भई जन्मस्थल लुम्बिनीमा तलका स्थलहरु समेत समावेश भएको ।
१. तिलौराकोटः राजा शुद्धोधनको राजदरबार जहाँ राजकुमार सिद्धार्थले राज पाठ त्याग्नुअघि २९ वर्ष व्यतित गरेका थिए । थोरै मात्र उत्खनन् भएको ।
२. गोटिहवा : कक्रुच्छन्द बुद्धको जन्मस्थल प्रमाणित गर्ने आशोकस्तंभ रहेको ठाऊँ ।
३. कुदान: सिद्धार्थ गौतमले ज्ञान प्राप्त गरेपछि आफ्नो पिता माता र परिवारलाई भेट गरेको स्थान ।
४. निगलीहवा : कनक मुनि बुद्धको जन्मस्थल प्रमाणित गर्ने ढलेको अवस्थामा अशोकस्तंभ रहेको ।
५. अरौराकोट : कनक मुनि बुद्धको राजदरबार क्षेत्र
६. सगरहवा: शाक्यहरुलाई बिरुढकले सामूहिक वध गरेको स्थल ।
७. सिसहनीया : भगवान् बुद्धको अस्तु धातु रहेको ठूलो स्तुपको भग्नावशेष ।
१-६ नं सम्मका सबै ठाउँमा बाह्रै महिना आउन जान ग्राभल रोड रहेको सिसहनीयामा स्थानीय तहबाट बाटो निर्माणाधीन कपिलवस्तुमा मात्रै १०० भन्दा बढी बौद्धकालीन संस्कृति सम्पदाका अरु महत्वपूर्ण स्थल रहेकाले खुला संग्रहालयको रुपमा रहेको ।
८. देवदह: कोलीय राज्यको राजधानी बुद्धको मावली क्षेत्र रुपन्देही जिल्ला
९. रामग्राम स्तुप: बुद्धको ससुराली, मावली कोलीय राज्यको भागमा परेको
भगवान् बुद्धको अस्तु धातुको आठ भागमध्येको एक भाग सुरक्षित राखिएको भनेको स्तुपको भग्नावशेष नवलपरासी जिल्ला ।

As Buddha Jayanti is coming soon, different organizations are organizing different programs all over the world. Buddha Jayanti is an annual holiday observed traditionally by Buddhists all over the world. Sometimes informally called “Buddha’s Birthday“, it actually encompasses the birth, enlightenment (Nirvana), and passing away (Parinirvana) of Gautama Buddha. Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) is going to celebrate the Buddha Jayanti with very surprising yet wonderful program. According to General Secretary of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) Mr. Ang Kaji Sherpa Kisan NEFIN will disclose the program in nearer date.

I have been here in USA for 5 years working as photographer and during my stay in this country I have seen lots of Buddhists from all around the world most of the days. During my communication with them I realized that even the Buddhists do not know the real birthplace of Gautam Buddha and it gave me unexpected surprise. When I was in Nepal I had thinking that Nepal is famous in the world because of Gautam Buddha and Mt. Everest. But from my experience here in USA, I am forced to remember Bhupi Sherchan’s poem. This is so sinful to us.
One day I met 75 years old lady. She came to make some photo prints in my work palace. Her nationality was Vietnamese but she has been to America for long time. From her photos I could guess that she was Buddhist and, therefore, asked her whether she was Buddhist. After her positive answer I asked whether she knows the birthplace of Buddha. Nepal is the pious Hindu and Buddha country in the lapse of the Himalayas, which is beautiful, quiet, the birth place of Buddha and origin of Hinduism. Besides being the country of Everest it is equally popular with its diverse cultural values. This is the land where civilization began and is also known as the country of ‘SANGRILA.’ Nepal is as holy place to Hindus & Buddhists, as Mecca for Muslims and Jerusalem to Jews and Christians.
The religious structure of Nepalese society is formally Hindu; but here and only here the interplay of peoples and their religious traditions has produced a rich fusion of Hindu and Buddhist faiths. It is common for both Hindus and Buddhists to worship at the same shrine, for many gods and saints are cross-over, often known by a different name but holding the same attributes. The original inhabitants of the valley were animists, a tradition which survives in the multitude of spirits, demons, local deities, and stones which receive dutiful worship to this day. Hindu and Buddhist traditions adapted from the pre-existing animist practices and from each other. Indeed, in the medieval period, when both religions’ practice adopted mystical, Tantric traditions, they were almost indistinguishable from each other. Nepal’s History and Religions Nepal is a rich and complex mix of different cultures and traditions, melded over thousands of years into a unique whole. For the western traveler there is much that is familiar, and many surprises. Family and religion are of paramount importance, and are constantly reflected throughout the culture. Nepalese people living in Taiwan are going to organize “Buddha Jayanti “in Taiwan. This program is going to be organized jointly by the Kapilvastu Day Movement Global Committee (KDMGC) and the Non-Resident Nepali Association-National Co-ordination Committee (NRNA-NCC), Taiwan. Kapilvastu Day Movement Global Committee member Dr. Hari Kumar Shrestha put this agenda in the meeting of the NRNA-NCC, Taiwan on March 28, 2010, and most of the participants were very interested to celebrate “Buddha Jayanti” to explore the birth place of Buddha worldwide. सन्देश अंकित प्लेकार्ड र बुद्धका फोटाहरु लिएर र्याली गरियो । नेपाली दुतावास पेरिसको सहयोग र समर्थनमा नेपाली एकता समाज, फ्रान्सले यो र्याली आयोजना गरेको हो । विश्वभरिका पर्यटकहरुको आइफल टावर हेर्न भिड लाग्ने हुनाले यहाँबाट बुद्धका अहिंसाका सन्देशहरु एकै पटक विश्वभरि फैलाउनका लागि यो ठाउँ रोजिएको आयोजकहरुको भनाई थियो ।
