Popular Indian TV program Kaun Banega Crorepati, Super Star Amitabh Bacchan and the participant-winner of Rs. 6,40.000 became honest on Buddha birth place issue despite many Indians’ want. TALKING THE BUDDHA BIRTH PLACE : MISINFORMING PEOPLE TO GLORIFY A NATION IS WRONG

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on June 16, 2012

[ Below today we re-post an article with a video taken this morning of a professor of history from Bhuvaneshowr, Orissa India. The Buddha birth place controversy was brought out of Orissa in 1928. But the speaker in the video below, Professor Kailash Chandra Dash, who himself comes from Orissa, says those were forged (his)stories to glorify Orissan as well as Indian peoples. And he added that the Indian scholars and historians should have interpreted historical information or data more scientifically, rather than any ‘nationalistic zeal’. Prof. Dash says, the birth place of Buddha is present day Lumbini of Nepal, not in any part of India. For more please watch the video.- Editor (Himalayan Voice)]

The two edicts from Paderia and Nigliva were edited by G.Buhler on the basis of the inked estampages furnished by their discoverer, Dr. A. A. Fuhrer who found the second in March 1895 and the first in December 18961. Both came from the Nepal Terai, where Nigliva was situated 38 miles north west of the Uska Bazar station of the Bengal and the North-Western Railway in the Nepalese tahsil Taulihva of the Zillah Bataul. Paderia was two miles north of the Nepalese tahsil Bhagvanpur of the same Zillah and according to Dr Fuhrer`s estimate about thirteen miles from Nigliva2. Both were incised on mutilated stone pillars and the Paderia edict which was found three feet below the surface of the ground was in a state of perfect preservation while that of Nigliva had suffered a great deal on the left side and had lost the first five letters of line three as well as the first seven of line four3.

Hinduism and Buddhism

Posted by worldamity on May 17, 2010

By Dirgha Raj Prasai [1]

Nepal is the pious Hindu and Buddha country in the lapse of the Himalayas, which is beautiful, quiet, the birth place of Buddha and origin of Hinduism. Besides being the country of Everest it is equally popular with its diverse cultural values. This is the land where civilization began and is also known as the country of ‘SANGRILA.’ Nepal is as holy place to Hindus & Buddhists, as Mecca for Muslims and Jerusalem to Jews and Christians.

The religious structure of Nepalese society is formally Hindu; but here and only here the interplay of peoples and their religious traditions has produced a rich fusion of Hindu and Buddhist faiths. It is common for both Hindus and Buddhists to worship at the same shrine, for many gods and saints are cross-over, often known by a different name but holding the same attributes. The original inhabitants of the valley were animists, a tradition which survives in the multitude of spirits, demons, local deities, and stones which receive dutiful worship to this day. Hindu and Buddhist traditions adapted from the pre-existing animist practices and from each other. Indeed, in the medieval period, when both religions’ practice adopted mystical, Tantric traditions, they were almost indistinguishable from each other. Nepal’s History and Religions Nepal is a rich and complex mix of different cultures and traditions, melded over thousands of years into a unique whole. For the western traveler there is much that is familiar, and many surprises. Family and religion are of paramount importance, and are constantly reflected throughout the culture. Nepal moves to a different rhythm than the West. The notes here are meant only to tantalize you into visiting this amazing place. Read the rest of this entry »

Google Corrected its Mistake (Breaking News)

Posted by worldamity on March 22, 2010

It is our Great pleasure to inform you all that the news Buddha’s Birthplace error in Google Maps is  already history. It is just couple of hours I received message from friends of mine: “It seems to me your blog is very closely watched by Google people.” I rechecked the Google Map and found there that Buddha’s Birthplace now not in India, but in Nepal. This is due to our voice, this is due to our effort.  Lots of groups created in Facebook ( Hey Google! Buddha was born in Nepal not in India!!!, Google Fix the Buddha’s Birthplace error in Google Map, google maps I Hate U:  birthplace of Buddha is, “Lumbini, NEPAL”, not UP, India ) as well to raise voice against Google’s wrong information.

Could you check Quotations by Authors and the map in this article. These links are also with some blonder mistakes. We need to raise our voice there too. Even after flood of criticisms, Newsweek Editor Fareed Zakaria is pretending that nothing happening against his misinformation. A wise man always accepts his mistakes. Let’s wait and see.

Posted by worldamity on March 8, 2010

By ध्रुवहरि अधिकारी

Read the rest of this entry »
