Press Statement on Brawny Earthquake in Nepal

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on April 27, 2015

Pray for NepalThis time the whole world thoughts are with the people of Nepal in the aftermath of the brawny earthquake ((7.9-8.0 Richter Scale Magnitudes) that has struck most of the part of Nepal at 11.56 AM (07:56 AM GMT) on 25th April, 2015. After that there are series of small and big earthquakes.

It is understandable that very many lives have been lost. There has also been significant damage to Nepal’s most of irreplaceable amazing cultural heritage and some of bridges are collapsed: Roads, electricity, water supply and telephone lines are disrupted. The reports of the devastation are terrible and still coming in and the numbers of people killed, injured and affected by this earthquake continue to rise.

Foreign aid, which was already vital to Nepal’s struggling economy, had become even more important now for its efforts to come out of the devastation caused by this massive earthquake.

I would like to, stress that Nepal had provided a travel heaven to the world and now it is time for the world to return the favour and do all they could do to make it stand-up again on its feet to welcome the world again.

In this grieve situation, we humbly appeal to international communities, Doctors, Red Cross and other humanitarian organisations to provide immediate medical and other fundamental helps by sending national medical teams to Nepal as there could be the chance of epidemic due to the season and hundreds of death bodies covered for many days.

If there’s anything stronger than Natural forces though, it will always be the will of the human spirit. Let’s all pray for the victims.

On behalf of the Movement, we express our deepest condolences to everyone affected, particularly to the families and friends of those killed and injured. I would like to request all Movement activists to contribute from their place and capacity in this critical moment. May God grant strength, courage, comfort, and assistance to victims’ families and loved ones, injured, rescuers and relief workers.
